Rushhour in Hoi An

Hoi An just south of Danang in the middle of Vietnam is the nicest little town you can imagine. It is in many ways very touristy, but still very vietnamese in terms of everydaylife, atmosphere and hospitality. You can't help but fall in love with the charm of the people and the way they smile when they want to sell you something! Hehe!
We of course had to buy something, like most travelers who come to Hoi An. It is the tailorcity of tailorcitys, and because of the high density in tailorshops there are also very reasonble prices. At least when you compare to Thailand. "Tell me what you want! I can make anything!" is a saying you hear roaring from shop to shop. They even make shoes! Heaven many would say, and even people with very little interest in clothes and fashion, easily become designers in no time!
The atmosphere in Hoi An is special. The old city is a Unesco World Heritage Site and have may old beautiful buildings. In the night the streets are lit by chinese lamps and from the artgalleries you can hear the classical music flowing. The Hoi An foodspecialities are fantastic and on the streetcorners you get cheap local beer. The Vietnamese people really have a great sense of humour, and are easy to have fun with.
Ok, so there are some annoying things to mention aswell. F.eks the kids with bambieyes selling postcards, tigerbalm and bracelets. "Open your hearts and wallets and you will have good luck!" They are everywhere and they all say the same thing. Well well, there are obbviosly more good things about this place than there are bad. Absolutely recommended!
